We asked the leaders of the five main political parties a series of questions about their plans to reduce poverty, here in Canada and overseas. All but one of them answered our questions. Check out the questions, and the leaders' answers, below.

Question 2: Do you support reaching the United Nations target of giving 0.7% of our national income in foreign aid?

Question 3: Do you support adopting a national plan to end poverty in Canada that commits to specific, measurable targets?

Question 4: Are you concerned about the high levels of First Nations poverty in Canada, and what will you do about this if elected?

Question 5: Do you support implementation of the Kelowna Accord or comparable plan to close the living standards gap between Aboriginal people and the rest of Canada?

Conservative leader Stephen Harper is the only leader who did not answer our questions. Ask him what he plans to do to fight poverty.
