Tell your MP Canada needs to build a responsible strategy towards fairer, more sustainable, safer world
For the first time in recent history, the Canadian government held a review of its international assistance policy. Hundreds of organizations and individuals have expressed their views on the role that they see for Canada in the world.
They asked for a strong and engaged global development cooperation program, one that empowers people to be agents of change in their community and create a better life for themselves.
Now that consultation process is over, we need to make sure the government translates YOUR recommendations into practice. To make this happen we need to strengthen the policy and funding framework for our global development efforts. And for that we need political will.
We need YOU to call on your MP to implement a more responsible vision and strategy for international development.
The Canadian Council for International Co-operation has designed a toolkit to help you engage your MP during the summer months.
In the toolkit you will find:
- Tools and tips to contact your MP
- Sample OP-ED
- Infographics and handouts
- Sample tweets and Facebook status
We need MPs to champion a strong plan for Canada to reduce global poverty and inequality. Engaging your MP is as easier than you think, and YOUR voices matter.
Stand up and say “global development matters to me too.”
