Stand Up

The counting of the 2009 STAND UP AND TAKE ACTION is now underway and results should be out later today.  But at "central filng" at UN Milliennium Campaign in New York, organizers seem confident that we've done another spectacular showing.  Confident enough that they are ringing in the NASDAQ bell this morning..you will be able to watch it on NASDAQ's site later today and here at MAKE POVERTY HISTORY, we'll be posting the numbers and emailing those of you who have signed on.

Please add your voice to this three day (Oct 16-18) global mobilization to halve poverty and hunger by 2015.

For the first time you can take part in STAND UP online here at www.makepovertyhistory.ca

Poverty related causes will kill more people this year than four centuries of slavery yet somehow this isn't being treated as a global emergency.

If you're not outraged by what's going on, you're not paying attention.
