Learn about desperate poverty in the wealthy country of Canada; Meet Poverty Olympic mascots Itchy the Bedbug, Creep the Cockroach, and Chewy the Rat; Talk to residents of Canada's poorest urban community; See the creative, justice-seeking spirit of Vancouver's low income Downtown Eastside Community; Watch the Poverty "Games": Housing Hurdles, Hockey with the VANOC Predators, the Broken Promise Slalom, and Wrestling for our Community; sing along with the Poverty Anthem; Eat Cockroach Cake and be merry!

The first ever Torch Relay through Metro Vancouver has begun! From February 2nd to February 7th, torchbearers will walk with the 10-foot Poverty Olympic Torch from Langley to Vancouver. For more details on the route and schedule of the Torch Relay, check out this map of community events.
