Robin Hood Tax to make a leap forward in Canada with Make Poverty History

Supporters of the Robin Hood Tax in Canada have been sitting by while our Canadian government has made considerable efforts to push it off the agenda of the G20 and G8.
Coming off the cusp of a major campaign in Canada earlier this year, we at Make Poverty History are gearing up for a more active campaign going into next year. We fully realize that it will be made an issue at the G8 and G20+5 summits next year in France.
Make Poverty History blogging at the UN MDG summit starts

In the lead up to this weeks conference, over 4000 Canadians sent our government a message to take bold action at this week's summit on the UN MDGs. Our effort to persuade Harper to attend the summit was a landmark victory, and we have since taken to pressuring him to step-up Canada's commitment to the Millennium Development Goals.
In this effort Make Poverty History has dispatched our National Co-ordinator Dennis Howlett and Eve Cueblo to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals Summit in New York.
Thus today, we have started to Tweet and Blog about the summit, providing essential coverage and bringing back stories of the successes and challenges on the road ahead. At this time, we need you to take action by following Make Poverty History on twitter, keeping informed with our daily reports, and engaging with your local MPs and media.
We also need you to show your support for the Make Poverty History campaign. Please make a donation online and add your voice to a growing movement for action on poverty and inequality.
